What Shastra Actually Says: Does Vastu Directly Cause Death?
No. Vastu Shastra never says that a wrong kitchen or a wrong entrance will directly cause death.
What it says is this: Vastu Dosh is an imbalance in a building concerning harmony with natural elements which can lead to problems like financial instability, mental stress, relationship problems, obstacles in career and recurring health issues.
This is the standard definition used across authentic texts. Vastu is about energy flow, not a death sentence. Death is a result of Karma, Prarabdha, medical conditions, and life circumstances. Vastu is ONE contributing factor that can make your body and mind weaker, so that health and accident risks increase.
Think of it like this – Wrong Vastu will not push you from the terrace, but it can create chronic stress, poor sleep, and depression that makes you careless.
The 5 Vastu Defects That Are Considered Life-Risking in Our Experience
In our site visits, we have seen these 5 defects repeatedly connected to serious health and accident cases. These are not for creating fear, but for awareness.
1. Toilet, Septic Tank or Dustbin in North-East (Ishan Kona) or Brahmasthan (Center)
This is the most dangerous as per both Shastra and practical experience. Ishan is your Water element and clarity zone. A toilet here pollutes your entire home’s energy.
As Vastu Acharya Manoj Shrivastava says, a red or purple in the Northeast will cause headaches and migraine, and a septic tank in the center of the house can cause depression and drug addictions. We have seen cases of long-term anxiety and addiction when the center is blocked. 2. Wrong Land Slope (Plav) and Land Near Danger Zones

3. Heavy Staircase in North-East or Center
In our most-read article, Staircase Vastu Calculator, we mentioned – In Vastu Shastra, a wrong staircase is considered the #1 reason for financial instability and health issues, even bigger than main door dosha. If placed in North-East, it can cause major losses. A heavy staircase blocks the light and air of the most sensitive zone. It creates constant heaviness, financial pressure, and health issues for the male members.
4. Bedroom in Wrong Zone + Beam Over Head
This is the slow poison. Sleeping under a direct overhead beam, sleeping in South-East (Agni zone) for years, or IT professionals sleeping in the wrong zone for day sleep – all this destroys your sleep cycle. 1. Lighten and Brighten the North-East: Remove heavy furniture, dustbins, and red color from NE. Keep it clean, light with white/yellow, and light a diya daily.
2. Fix Your Sleep First: Move your bed away from the beam, sleep with your head towards South or East, and ensure no mirror reflects your sleeping body. Good sleep is 50% Vastu.

But you should correct it with no-demolition remedies immediately – keep the door always closed, keep it very clean and ventilated, place a copper strip, and keep the North-East zone as light as possible.
