Who Was Neem Karoli Baba?
Neem Karoli Baba was a Hindu spiritual teacher and devoted follower of Lord Hanuman. He was born as Lakshman Narayan Sharma around 1900 in Akbarpur village in Uttar Pradesh.
His devotees called him Maharaj-ji. He said there can be no biography of him. Facts are few, stories many. He always said he was ‘nobody’. Yet his influence transformed a small spot between two hills into one of the most powerful spiritual centers in the world –ย Kainchi Dham.
He left his physical body on September 11, 1973, in Vrindavan, but his ashram still lives and breathes his presence.
